Chrissy Teigen’s Face Mask Is Good For Skincare

It’s no secret that many of us are face masking while we work from home. The ritual can provide a small and necessary daily delight – and the inordinate number of selfies being shared online proves it. The latest addition to the crew? Chrissy Teigen, who took her mask game to new heights in an Instagram Story she posted on Sunday.

The mask in question was an LED [light emitting diode] mask, which has long been a fixture in beauty editors’ skincare routines and first came to prominence on Instagram a few years ago, after the likes of Victoria Beckham and Kate Hudson shared photos of themselves using them.

And for good reason, too. LED masks feature in many top facialists’ treatments, thanks to their ability to tackle a wide range of skin issues. They work by delivering varying wavelengths of light to the skin at a cellular level, prompting the skin cells to work harder. For example, blue light kills acne-causing bacteria, and red is brilliant for stimulating collagen and elastin, while easing inflammation. They aren’t painful and require no downtime, which makes them an excellent addition to any skincare routine.
